Nikki Wilson

Interior architect

B.Design Interior Architecture Victoria University Wellington. DINZ, Affiliate Member NZIA, DOCOMOMO

For over 20 years, Nikki has been crafting spaces in New Zealand and around the world across a wide range of types and scales. Her projects have received a number of awards, including a DCC supreme award for adaptive re-use of a heritage building, Best Awards and Property Council awards. Nikki has the ability to think broadly about a brief (often beyond what a client has imagined) and articulate a clear design strategy across many disciplines - from lighting designers and branding agencies to furniture makers and artisans.

After travelling and working in Europe, Nikki established a gallery for New Zealand furniture, lighting and product design. She worked in Wellington for one of the country’s oldest architecture and interiors practises, and, feeling the pull of the mountains, returned south and started her own interior architecture studio in Queenstown. She has been a regular contributing writer for a number of design publications and has taught at Victoria University Wellington School of Architecture and Design.

Sarah Reid

Interior architect

M.Arch Professional (Hons) Auckland University

Before returning to New Zealand in 2021, Sarah worked in New York, London and Auckland for multi-disciplinary design practices.

Sarah’s background has given her an innate understanding of brand and story-telling. Her originality and creativity is matched by rigor and strategic thinking. She is excellent at managing the early feasibility stages of a project and building business strategies.

Her work is thorough and layered, full of texture and colour. Natural materials give Sarah the most joy, especially NZ wool — inspired by a childhood spent on an Otago sheep station.

Having thru-hiked the 2650 mile Pacific Crest Trail in the US, you can safely say there’s no project too daunting for Sarah.

Lauren Hickling

Interior architect

B. Design (Interior Architecture) Victoria University Wellington

Lauren has come to our studio having worked in Canada, for a boutique multi-disciplinary design firm, and in Auckland for one of the country’s most renowned architecture practices. She was recognised as NZ Interior Awards Emerging Design Professional in 2018.

Her work is intuitive, purposeful, and honest, leaning into natural, tactile materials. She believes spaces should be welcoming, evoking a strong sense of belonging — no matter the scale.

Lauren brings a warm and sincere design approach to every project, be it retail, hospitality, or residential.

Elisa Chan

Procurement lead

MA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Product Design, L’École Bleue I Paris, France

Elisa is originally from the Republic of Panama, leaving to study and work in London, Antwerp, Paris, Shanghai and Beijing.

Experienced in boutique retail design and product design, she has a beautiful feel for materiality and an exquisite eye for detail. Elisa also has an amazing talent for finding unique objects — perhaps stemming from her time as an antique dealer in Paris.

She’s a true advocate for well-crafted decorative objects and the vibrancy they bring to a space. She can also talk at length about all things design in the five different languages she’s picked up along the way.
