The Chamberson Hotel
Ōtepoti Dunedin
The award-winning Chamberson Hotel is a heritage-listed industrial building in the heart of Dunedin City.
The original warehouse structure gave us generously sized rooms, high ceilings and huge windows to work with, each with their own unique view of this storied city.
The interiors are warm, intimate and tactile, with the Chamberson’s previous life still visible in the beams, plaster and brickwork, and original stone floors.
The city’s culture and heritage is celebrated throughout the building. The airy private dining space on the rooftop known as ‘The Loft,’ features furniture sourced from local craftspeople and antique dealers, as well as pieces designed specifically by us to fit the space, and the place. William Morris wallpaper features alongside paintings from prominent local fashion label Nom*D, and history is on show right out the window – from up here, guests are eye to eye with the spiky gothic steeple of Dunedin’s magnificent First Church.
